World Space Week

10 October 2022

Formally declared by the United Nations in 1999, World Space Week is an international celebration of science and technology. Held each year from October 4-10, the dates hold significance in the space industry, commemorating the 4 October 1957 launch of the first human-made Earth satellite Sputnik 1, and commemorating the 10 October 1967 signing of the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activites of States in the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.

World Space Week is celebrated by space agencies, aerospace companies, schools, planetaria, museums, and astronomy clubs around the world. Here at Av-Comm, we celebrated over a themed Av-Comm Space Week cake!

At Av-Comm, we’re proud of the work we do and have done in the design, manufacturing and installation of optical and RF ground segment in support of the space industry. It’s great to all come together and celebrate the many achievements that humanity has made in space, and our shared international commitment to cultivating space for the betterment of humanity.
