Av-Comm Space and Defence expands large antenna capabilities with acquisition of R G Systems

Av-Comm Space and Defence is pleased to announce it has acquired the Central Coast-based large antenna specialist     R G Systems. Australian-owned R G Systems has been operating since 2005 and during that time has installed and refurbished more than 100 large antenna systems for defence and civil satellite communications customers.

This strategic acquisition of R G Systems will expand Av-Comm’s technical capability and offer further opportunities for growth at a time when new satellite constellations are proliferating.
“The ground segment is undergoing a revolution in Australia with more and more satellite constellations being launched requiring an ever-increasing number of ground stations to support them,” Av-Comm Managing Director Michael Cratt said.

“Our objective is to boost Australian content in the ground stations being built and maintained in Australia, as well as expand local manufacturing of the components needed in the ground segment to strengthen the domestic supply chain,” he said.

“With a complementary project portfolio, technical expertise and far-reaching geographical experience, Rod Goulding and his team bring to Av-Comm a wealth of industry knowledge and a unique understanding of the complexity of defence programs,” Mr Cratt said.
