Av-Comm supports future-proofing the University of the South Pacific

30 April 2022

Av-Comm is proud to have worked in partnership with in-country engineering and telecommunications specialists at the University of the South Pacific (USP) since 2020 to deliver upgrades to existing USP networks. Our work continues to future proof USP’s 14 regional campuses dotted throughout the South Pacific region. This week our team in Fiji met with USP staff to talk about their satellite communication infrastructure. The University of the South Pacific (USP) is the premier institution of higher learning for the Pacific and has more than 12,000 students from over 45 countries.

USP is jointly owned and governed by twelve (12) Member Countries: Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. The University has campuses in all Member Countries, with Fiji having three campuses.

Considering recent events in Tonga, it’s more important than ever to discuss ways to increase resilience in these demanding environments. Av-Comm’s projects at USP provides essential communications infrastructure to support students, academics and researchers well into the future.
